Why we rebuilt our website

Last week our new website went live. The old one worked fine. It simply no longer said what we actually do, and that started to chafe. Our work has changed a fair bit over the past two years, so the site had to follow.

What changed in our work

In the beginning we mostly built apps. A web app here, a mobile app there. We still enjoy doing that, by the way. But at almost every client we saw the same picture: an ERP running, a few spreadsheets living next to it, and somewhere a person retyping everything manually from one into the other.

So the problem was rarely a missing app. What was missing was the connection between the systems already standing there. Our work shifted on its own because of it. We now mostly build internal tools and dashboards that replace the spreadsheets, and increasingly AI that takes over the retyping.

AI orchestration, in plain language

That approach got its own page on the new site: AI orchestration. Put simply, it is several AI steps, models and systems working together in one flow. Every step is logged and checked, so you can rely on it. That is something else entirely than installing a chatbot and hoping it works out.

At K&C Marine Contractors, inspection reports are drawn up automatically. That saves half a day of reporting work per inspection. For the repetitive work around it we build agents and RPA: automation that takes over the dull work, so nobody has to fill their days with copy and paste.

What you will find on the new site

The new site puts that approach front and centre. You will find our services explained without jargon, cases with real figures such as Transport Schouls and De Greef Spoorkranen, and this blog. From now on we will write here more often about what we build, what works and what does not.
